Dear Prospective Board Member,

Thank you for your interest in Kamira Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services Inc.

We would be delighted to receive your expression of interest (EOI) and to introduce you to our dynamic and dedicated not-for-profit organisation. As the Chair of our Board, I would like to personally extend my thanks for considering joining our team of volunteer Board members who play a pivotal role in steering the course of Kamira.

About Our Organisation

We have operated on the Central Coast community for over 40 years.

Kamira Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Services Inc., provides residential treatment options for women, pregnant women, and women with children who are experiencing problematic alcohol and/or other drug use across New South Wales. We are committed to passionately inspiring women to create positive change in their lives, and we prioritise Aboriginal women in our service.

About the Role

At Kamira, the Board’s primary responsibilities revolve around governance, ensuring that we operate effectively and fulfill our mission. This includes setting the strategic direction in collaboration with our staff, ensuring compliance with funding contracts and government regulations, managing risks effectively, and maintaining a constructive relationship with our CEO.

About You

Our Board values the strength that diversity brings to our decision-making process. We are actively seeking individuals who can offer a wide range of skills and expertise to complement our existing Board team. We believe in fostering an environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are celebrated and integrated into our discussions, and we are particularly looking for Aboriginal people to join the Board as our client cohort usually comprises more than 50% Aboriginal women. Your unique background and insights could be instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and serve our community more effectively.
