Kamira is a residential specialist treatment service for women and children experiencing alcohol and other drug misuse and trauma. It is fully funded to deliver an all encompassing, holistic, evidence led, trauma based treatment program delivered by a team of allied health professionals.
Kamira was established in 1982 on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Women from our community form Kamira’s Governance Committee.
Funding is received from NSW Ministry of Health, the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, and the HNECC Primary Health Network.
Kamira is committed to breaking the cycle of the intergenerational removal of children from their mothers due to the impacts of substance dependency. We believe everybody has the ability to recover and everybody has the right to access quality treatment.
